IT ALL STARTS WITH A BIG IDEA
The DARK RIDE COMPANY is the industry’s leading creator of World-Class Signature Attractions. For many theme park operators, building a Dark Ride that’s on par with the world’s top theme parks may seem out of reach from both a budgetary and operational perspective. That’s where we come in. For a mere fraction of the cost, we can design and produce an experience which will not only meet but will exceed the greatest rides the world has to offer.

Hershey’s Great American Factory Tour Ride
Hershey, Pennsylvania Year Opened:2006 Project Type:Dark Ride Project Size:48,000 Square FeetIn 2003, we began a collaboration with Hershey’s Chocolate World to re-imagine their classic FACTORY TOUR RIDE for a new century. First debuted in 1973, this ‘Omnimover’ Dark Ride has seen multiple updates over the years, each one reflecting the sensibilities of the era. Our ‘re-imagining’ was perhaps the most dramatic to date, maintaining the fundamentals of the experience while brining an added layer of entertainment and ‘wow factor’ to capture the imaginations of modern audiences. Among the most drastic upgrades included the addition of eight animated figures, all new lighting and audio, as well as a slew of brand-new special effects including an immersive multimedia finale. The re-imagined experience debuted to rave reviews in April 2006,
Fun Fact: The ‘Hershey’s Happiness’ Multimedia Finale was created by Broadway scenic designer Jerome Sirlin.
Tropicana Las Vegas
Las Vegas, Nevada Project Type:Dark Ride Project Size:20,000 Square FeetIn 2007, resort owner Columbia Sussex had big plans for Las Vegas’ iconic Tropicana resort. These super-sized ambitions would reimagine the property as the world’s largest resort, home to 10,000 hotel rooms, an immersive retail promenade, as well as the world’s first boat ride to integrate 3D multimedia. This spectacular attraction, dubbed ‘JOURNEY TO PARADISE’, was a revolutionary experience imagined by top talent formerly of Walt Disney Imagineering and Universal Creative. Onboard, riders would be transported to a surrealistic tropical paradise blurring the lines between media and reality before a climactic drop into the heart of a large indoor lagoon.
Fun Fact: Unlike a traditional boat ride, the attraction would implement a Water Slide-style finale. This idea was later used for Lava Drifting at Shanghai Haichang Ocean Park.
Crash Course Driving Academy
TBD Year Opened:In-Development Project Type:Dark Ride Project Size:12,000 Square FeetCRASH COURSE is an all-new concept combining the magic of a classic Dark Ride with the wild thrills of Bumper Cars to create something completely new. Instead of being guided by a traditional track, here riders have free reign of their vehicles which are kept on-course through the use of guard rails. With multiple forks and diverging paths placed along the journey, this unprecedented degree of freedom allows riders to chart their own course in this uniquely interactive adventure.
Fun Fact: Inspired by classic Dark Ride ‘Crash Doors’, riders are encouraged to collide with specially designed set pieces.
Around the World
HotGo DreamWorld Project Type:Dark RideFun takes flight at AROUND THE WORLD- a high-flying adventure created for the entire family to experience and enjoy together. Traveling aboard a Hot Air Balloon, riders embark on a remarkable journey around the globe, taking in the world’s most remarkable natural and manmade wonders with a delightful twist.
Fun Fact: Around the World’s ride system is envisioned as an evolution of Intamin’s classic Hot Air Balloon ride at Lotte World in South Korea. In this update, not only can the vehicle swiftly rise and descend- it can also fully rotate to focus the attention of the riders.
Aurora
Macau Project Type:Dark RideAURORA is a groundbreaking Dark Ride blending dazzling multimedia environments with physical scenery in dramatic new ways. Utilizing a suspended ride system, riders pass through a series of mind-bending worlds in which perspective is constantly shifting and distorting. From celestial starscapes to surrealistic underwater realms, each new scene brings with it an arsenal of shocking delights and surprises that will have guests returning over and over again.
Fun Fact: Aurora’s ride system is envisioned as an evolution of Intamin’s classic Hot Air Balloon ride at Lotte World in South Korea. In this update, not only can the vehicle swiftly rise and descend- it can also fully rotate to focus the attention of the riders.
Battle for the Hidden Kingdom
Confidential Project Type:Dark RideTaking the concept of an E-Ticket to the next level, BATTLE FOR THE HIDDEN KINGDOM takes riders of a jaw-dropping adventure through the origin story of the park itself. Set in and around the park’s iconic castle, a network of hidden passageways and secret chambers will deposit guests in the grand council chambers where defenses are being planned for an imminent invasion. As riders attempt to escape, they will find themselves engulfed in the center of a legendary battle.
Fun Fact: This unique dark ride attraction features both indoor and outdoor segments.
